Vasar

In traditional Turkish wine and raki culture, the appetizers and side dishes are called meze. There is one popular meze in Turkish cuisine that is made with dried broad beans. Building on this traditional taste, we turned it into Vasar by adding roasted chard and whole garlic pieces. It is served on a slice of bread.

Ingredients:

Dried broad beans, chard leaves, garlic, virgin olive oil, spices, salt

Wine Pairing:

Vasar pairs well with full-bodied red and white wines like Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Acıkara, Chardonnay, and Narince.

What Does VASAR Mean?

In creating the names of our tapas, we were inspired by the archaic Hittite language. In Hittite, WASHAR means garlic, which is a central component of of our tapas, so we chose Vasar as its name, bringing it closer to Turkish phonetics.
