WAYANA Wine Bar Istanbul is an experiential space bringing together Anatolia’s native grapes, artisan winemakers, culinary traditions, and stories. Located in Moda, our selection focuses exclusively on producers from Turkey, seamlessly uniting wine tasting with the dining table—and the table with history, geography, and culture.
We drew inspiration for WAYANA’s name from the Hittites, one of Anatolia’s most ancient civilizations. In their language, WAYANA translates directly to wine. What’s more, the Hittites were the first civilization in history to legally protect viticulture and vineyards by inscribing wine laws onto clay tablets.
WAYANA was founded for wine enthusiasts who believe the magnificent heritage of Anatolia—where wine has been continuously cultivated for millennia—is truly worth exploring. We take immense joy in welcoming wine lovers from all corners of the globe.

Dedicated to preserving and promoting Anatolia's ancient viticultural memory while connecting local artisan craft with international routes, we proudly operate as part of the Council of Europe-certified Iter Vitis Cultural Route. Our Story
WAYANA began in Moda in 2022 with a simple idea: to create a different kind of gathering place where people could discover and learn more about Türkiye’s grapes and wineries.
Over time, that idea grew beyond the glass. Anatolia’s cuisine, local grape varieties, wineries, geography, history and culture became parts of the same story. Tastings, shared tables, meetings with wineries, articles and research began to inform and enrich one another.
