On Sunday, November 13, we were in Central Anatolia this time with wine lovers chasing new wines. The cultural history shows that viticulture and wine making have been a part of life in this region for thousands of years. So much so that the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations has the richest collection of wine accessories in the world.
The Central Anatolia Region hosts vineyards between 900 meters and 1,300 meters above sea level. The climatic conditions are harsh; continental climate prevails. The soil structure has a richness ranging from red clay to volcanic and sandy varieties in different parts of the region.
We selected a wine from each of the eight wine producers located in this region. Hasandede from Vinkara, Seneler Narince from Turasan, Emir from Kocabağ and Misket from Kavaklıdere formed our white wine selection. For red wines, taste Karaoğlan from Diren, Trajan Reserve Kalecik Karası from Tomurcukbağ, Kalecik-Karası-Cabernet Franc from Gordias and Kalecik Karası-Syrah from Vinolus.
We do not conduct our wine tasting events with a just taste and finish approach. In this study, we talk about the terminological knowledge required by wine tasting, how wine production processes differ in different wine styles, and the distinctive aspects of producers, and enrich them with questions and answers.
There is also a tasting agenda that adds value to my taste. Based on the WAYANA Tasting Agenda, we prepare a tasting booklet for each event. In Cappadocia-Central Anatolia Wine Tasting, we process the basic information of the eight wines we have included in the booklet from the beginning so that there is no waste of time. Our participants also process the valuation notes of the wines in their own booklets. We not only have a permanent document from the tasting day, but also reinforce the habit of wine evaluation.
The fourth of the Turkey Vineyard Routes Wine Tastings will continue on Sunday, November 27, with İzmir-Urla wines. If you would like to taste İzmir wines from the place where you live in our wine house in Kadıköy, we are waiting for you.
