WAYANA 100 Series
The WAYANA 100 series event, under the title 'The Fundamentals of Wine,' consists of two parts. WAYANA 101 and WAYANA 102 are designed to complement each other. Each event has distinct content, and wine enthusiasts can choose either one or both.
WAYANA 101
TERROIR AND WINE
Our first event begins in the vineyard, where the journey of the grape starts. Good wine requires good grapes, and the quality of the grapes depends on the terroir and the way the vineyard is managed. In this session, we will evaluate the variables that affect terroir, the choices a producer can make in managing the vineyard, and how these choices reflect in the wine, all while tasting selected examples. We will also explore the characteristics of wine at each stage of the tasting and how these characteristics correspond to our senses.
We will record our tasting notes in the Tasting Journal prepared for each event. The accompaniments prepared for the tasting are also part of the experience.
Each wine featured in the WAYANA 101 event has a specific characteristic. In the list below, you can see the criteria by which each wine was selected and examine the producer and, if applicable, the series name and grape variety. The list is not organized by tasting order.

WINE STYLES
Our second event examines wines produced by conventional methods according to their body structure and includes a special focus on naturally sparkling wines.
In this session, we will explore the differences in the production processes of white and red wines, the creation of rosé and natural wines, and how naturally sparkling wines come to life. We will also discuss how to evaluate the maturation and aging of wine.
Additionally, we will delve into why each individual has a unique palate identity and try to uncover the clues to wine’s compatibility with the individual’s palate.
As with the first event, we will experience the wines' characteristics and how these characteristics affect our sensory system through practical tastings. Our observations will be recorded in the Tasting Journal prepared for the event.
Each wine featured in the WAYANA 102 event also has a distinctive characteristic and they are all dry wines. Below is the list showing the criteria by which each wine was selected, and you can examine the producer and, if applicable, the series name and grape variety.
