Sparkling Wines: Beautiful in any season, goes with any meal
Sparkling wines create a wide variety of associations in our minds. Probably, if any celebration is going to be made, the first thing that comes to mind is 'popping champagne'. It seems like it is a natural expression of enthusiasm not being able to fit into its container, and flowing by foaming.
They are very cheerful wines; When you bring the glass closer, tiny droplets jumping on your lips and nose invite you to play games.
They are also luxury products; immediately brings to mind wealth, as if it creates the impression of hard-to-reach wines that only those with a lot of money can drink.
All of the features listed above are true, which is why sparkling wines are produced and consumed in millions of bottles all over the world.
Sparkling wines differ according to the way they are produced. The most labor-intensive and time-consuming natural sparkling wines are produced by a method called the Traditional Method. In the first step of this method, grape juice is fermented to produce white wine. In the second stage, sugar is added to the wine obtained in accordance with the characteristics of the sparkling wine, it is bottled and the second fermentation takes place inside the bottle. Since the carbon dioxide released during the second fermentation cannot leave the tightly closed bottle, the wine becomes sparkling. Sparkling wines produced with the traditional method are called champagne in our country. But in order for a wine to be able to write the term "Champagne" on its label, it must be made from Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir grapes grown in the region of the same name, whose borders are clearly defined in France, and the production process must be strictly controlled.
Turkish winemakers also have sparkling wines. Kavaklıdere, Doluca, Vinkara, Turasan and Pamukkale have been producing both natural and artificial sparkling wines with traditional production techniques for many years. However, the production of sparkling wine in our country is very limited, both in terms of variety and quantity.
We include both domestic and imported sparkling wines in the WAYANA Wine Menu. With the approaching spring months, the number of varieties in our sparkling wine range will increase rapidly. Even though the sparkling variety imported to our country is not very wide, sparkling wines from every segment will be included in your menu. Moreover, we are starting to serve all non-vintage sparkling wines by glass.
