We Completed WAYANA Turkey Wine Regions Vineyard Route Tasting Series.
We completed our tasting series, which we started on October 9, 2022 and held on Sundays every two weeks, with the last session on January 22, 2023. WAYANA's first tasting event series was a project that we could not make any predictions about, so we started by taking the risk. We wanted to share a brief summary of this project and our internal evaluation with the curious.
Turkey Wine Regions Vineyard Route event was held in eight stages. Let's briefly recall these stages:
Bozcaada Vineyard Route / 4 Producers / 10 Wines
Thrace Vineyard Route / 8 Producers / 8 Wines
İzmir-Urla Vineyard Route / 8 Producers / 8 Wines
Central Anatolia-Cappadocia Vineyard Route / 8 Producers / 8 Wines
East-Southeast Anatolia Vineyard Route / 6 Producers / 8 Wines
Denizli Vineyard Route / 8 Producers / 8 Wines
Northern Aegean-İzmir-Manisa Vineyard Route / 8 Producers / 8 Wines
Southern Aegean-Mediterranean Region Vineyard Route / 5 Producers / 8 Wines
In this tasting series, we hosted a total of 96 wine lovers. Our guests had the opportunity to meet 66 wines from 51 producers in these eight tastings. They recorded the evaluation of each tasting in a special Tasting Agenda we prepared for that day. By separating the first part of each tasting into basic wine terms, wine production processes, and wine tasting criteria, we aimed to create an awareness that can guide our guests' next wine selection and evaluation. Of course, evaluating how successful we are in this is a question that our participants must answer.
As we complete our eighth tasting event, we ask ourselves: What did these events add to WAYANA? The most important reason we planned these events was to introduce a new brand, WAYANA, to wine lovers. We see that we have achieved this. When we look at the integrity of the tasting, details such as the preparation of tasting booklets with original content for each session, the participants being a part of the tasting process, and the snacks accompanying the wines were completely fulfilled.
At the same time, the WAYANA team performed flawlessly in serving the wines simultaneously at the right temperatures. We would like to thank Mr. Serkan and Ms. Ece during the service phase, and Ms. Şafak for the snack preparation. Seeing that our guests agreed with our evaluations increased the motivation of all of us.
We are preparing for the second series with the strength we get from the first series of events. Our topic this time is the "Wines of Turkey's Endemic Grapes" Series. Details of this series are the subject of another article.
