A Quick Introduction to Sparkling Wine Varieties – 1

Have you decided to get to know and learn about wine closely? Then welcome to the world of wine education that will last a lifetime. If you have an insatiable appetite for learning, you are at the right place. Because now you will meet new surprises every day, you will chase after new tastes and you will realize how many unknowns there are in the world of wine waiting for you to discover.

One of the shortcomings that we have always wanted to do at WAYANA, but have not been able to find the opportunity until now, was the growth of our sparkling wines division. There were several reasons for our delay in realizing this desire. Chief among these is that a limited number of Turkish producers produce sparkling wine, which has not changed. We serve all the sparkling wines of local producers within our knowledge. But we have no choice but to enlarge this small range with the help of imported products.

The second limitation was the risk of wastage when serving sparkling wines by the glass. The glass serving solution without removing the cork, which we have in traditional wines, could not be applied to sparkling wines. When he finally met a similar preservation method for sparkling wine, the obstacle to growth in this section was lifted. In 2023, we will experience rapid growth in the WAYANA Sparkling Wine Menu.

We wanted to share with you the basic information about the foams we will serve briefly. Thus, it will be possible for you to act with more accurate criteria while making your choices. Sparkling wines differ according to gas pressure ratios. While the gas rate of natural sparkling wines produced by the traditional method cannot be less than an additional 3 atmospheres of pressure, this rate is at most an additional 2.5 atmospheres in semi-sparkling wines. (The pressure we feel on earth is considered to be 1 atmosphere.)

The sparkling wines we serve have different types according to their production methods. That's why there are so many different prices. For those who are curious, it would be useful to briefly summarize the production methods of the foamy products we include in the WAYANA menu.

  • Traditional Method
  • Charmat Method
  • The Method of Our Ancestors
  • Soda Method

We share the explanations in a separate article in order to fit the description of the methods and not to overwhelm the reader.
